The December issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine is announcing on Saturday that production on a second series of the Takara Tomy's Beast Saga anime has been green-lit. The announcement reveals that the setting of the anime will change to the “sky,” and that the “development” will unfold at DVD rental stores next spring.
Saikyō Jump also serializes Manabu Honjō's manga adaptation of the Beast Saga franchise. Takara Tomy's official website for the franchise is streaming an English-narrated animated trailer for the franchise.
Beast Saga takes place on a distant planet in our galaxy called Beast where three beast tribes, the Sea Tribe, the Land Tribe, and the Sky Tribe, fight for their honor. Each of the tribes protect an infinite elemental power source called "Godlot."
The first anime series aired in 2013 with Taiten Kusunoki (Last Order Final Fantasy VII's Rude, The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke's Allen Walsh) leading the cast as Liogre. Aside from the manga and anime, the franchise also includes hobby toys and a dice battle game.
