GJ Club Sequel Teased With Overseas Trip to New York
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The official website for the GJ Club television anime series added an image teasing the setting for the series' sequel. The image features a character silhouette holding a flag with the text: "GJ-bu NY e ikku!? Zokuhen wa GJ-bu buin-tachi no gaigairyokō?" (GJ Club Goes to New York!? The sequel is about the GJ Club members' overseas trip?)
The wraparound jacket band on the seventh volume of the original manga and the GJ Club Fanbook emphasize that the sequel will "reassemble the staff from television version." The staff has not yet announced the format of the sequel.
Follow-up messages from the official Twitter account added that the anime staff members apparently have not been to New York themselves. Original creator Shin Araki and chief animation director Atsushi Soga signed a poster with the same "GJ Club Goes to New York!?" message for the Tokyo Chikara Meshi restaurant, which is running a GJ Club campaign.
