New York Comic Con Draws 130,000+, Comparable to San Diego

New York Comic Con attracted over 130,000 unique attendees this year according to Reed Exhibitions Group Vice President Lance Fensterman. This is 14,000 more attendees than last year's number and puts the convention at about the same size as San Diego's Comic-Con International convention.
"Between 9 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, we had 54,000 people scan through," Fensterman said.
NYCC sold less three-day passes this year to allow more unique attendees into the convention. This change may be expanded on in coming years.
Fensterman also stated that the convention seemed less crowded this year due to previous year's large counterfeit ticket problem. The number of ticketed visitors per day was the same, but the institution of RFID (radio frequency identification) badges kept fraudulent ticket holders out, leading to 40% less congestion in some areas. It also reduced badge-sharing issues with exhibitors.
