The October issue of Akita Shoten's Young Champion Retsu magazine announced last Tuesday that Chaco Abeno and Saki Okuse will begin serializing a new manga titled Draw in the November issue of the magazine, which is scheduled to be released on October 8.
The manga is described as a “modern-day dark witch story,” and revolves around Umi, a girl who suddenly meets two witches on her way to school. This is the beginning of a fragile and beautiful story of those who hold sadness in their hearts.
In addition, Abeno also announced on her official Twitter account that she will be penning a manga adaptation of Gust's Escha & Logy's Atelier video game for the PlayStation 3. The manga will begin in the December issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine, which is scheduled to ship in Japan on October 27. The official website for the Escha & Logy's Atelier video game is hosting Abeno's manga character designs for Escha, Logy, and Wilbell.
Abeno previously worked on the manga adaptations of the multimedia project sola, AQUAPLUS' visual novel White Album, and her original series Welcome to Wakaba-soh. Broccoli Books licensed sola for North American release in 2007 and released the first volume before shutting down in 2008. Yen Press acquired the rights to Welcome to Wakaba-soh in 2008 and released both volumes of that series. Abeno also drew the manga adaptation of Gakuto Mikumo's Dantalian no Shoka light novel series.
The North American graphic novel publisher Dark Horse Comics released the sixth compiled book volume of Okuse's Ghost Talker's Daydream manga in May 2011, and Digital Manga Inc. published his Twilight of the Dark Master manga in 2005.
