Namco Bandai Games began streaming a 30-second "William & Dantalion" commercial for its Makai Ōji: Devils and Realist - Dairi-Ō no Hihō (The Secret Treasure of the Acting Ruler) Nintendo 3DS game on Thursday. The ad starts out with Dantalion telling William that if he chooses him as the acting ruler of hell then he will give William important information about the game. William then says that he doesn't need the information, because people in Japan will have already checked it out. Dantalion explains to William that the game has multiple endings, and that in the game William's butler Kevin will become a candidate for the acting ruler of hell. When William expresses his shock at this information, Dantalion says that William will have to choose him, but William says he still refuses to do so.
Takuya Eguchi, Takuma Terashima, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will be reprising their roles as William Twining, Dantalion, and Sytry from the anime series. Yoshimasa Hosoya and Tomokazu Sugita are joining the cast as Rashild (the son of an Egyptian diplomat) and Heidal (a young man shrouded in mystery), respectively.
The game will be released in standard and limited-edition versions on September 26. The limited edition will retail for 7,980 yen (about US$81) and comes in a tin with artwork by the series' manga artist Utako Yukihiro. It include the game, a drama CD, and a booklet with interviews from the game's staff and cast. The standard edition will retail for 5,980 yen (US$61).
