Manga creator Hajime Yamamura will start a new series titled Aoki Ao no Atopos in the October issue of Shogakukan's Sunday GX magazine on September 19. Sunday GX announced the series in the September issue on Monday.
The young-adult science-fiction story follows second-year middle school student Masato Shirohara. One day, the entire crew of a resource survey ship goes missing. Could it be the work of pirates, aliens, or spies? Masato gets caught up in the incident, and meets Kagari Utō, a beautiful girl who suddenly appears before him. Little does Masato know, that Kagari will be the key to drastically changing his fate.
Yamamura ended the Kamisama Dolls manga in Sunday GX in February. The manga inspired a 13-episode anime series that aired from July to September 2011. Crunchyroll streamed Kamisama Dolls in various countries as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in North America.
