Manga Sutra - Futari H's Katsu Ends Dandy Maniac Manga
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The November issue of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine will publish the last chapter of Aki Katsu's Dandy Maniac manga on September 19.
The "sexy love comedy" centers around JKs (Joshi Kōsei or high school girls) who, upon entering their emotional teen years, have begun taking an interest in boys. Chiame and her childhood friends Yako and Ayari start a "Male Research Club" to assertively study men through fieldwork.
Katsu launched the series last year and the first compiled volume shipped in February.
Katsu has been drawing another manga, Manga Sutra (Futari H ), in Young Animal and Young Animal Arashi since 1997. The manga, which describes itself as a "love bible" or a "user's manual" for people in love, has sold 23 million copies so far, and Hakusensha will publish the 58th book volume next month.
Tokyopop published Katsu's The Vision of Escaflowne, Psychic Academy, and Manga Sutra in North America before closing its doors in 2011.
The November issue will also publish the conclusion of Atsushi Kuragane's PiNKS and MIKIKO Kumazawa's Ano Ko no Ie manga. The issue will launch the new manga series Hitomi-sensei no Hokenshitsu by Shake-O and the one-shot "Neko no Hitomi" by Akane Wakita.
