Otakon 2013 Draws 34,142 Paid Attendees

Staff at the Otakon 2013 convention in Baltimore confirmed with ANN that the convention drew 34,142 paid attendees over the weekend. Unconfirmed numbers previously estimated 34,000 attendees. Otakon staff member Terry Chu stated the convention surpassed last year's attendance on the first day.

The convention drew 31,348 attendees in 2011. Otakon will move to the larger Walter E Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. for at least five years beginning in 2017.
