Omamori Himari Romantic Comedy Manga to End in September
posted on by Egan Loo
The September issue of Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine announced on Friday that Milan Matra will end his Omamori Himari manga in the next issue on September 9.
The slapstick romantic comedy starts with an ordinary 16-year-old high school boy named Yūto Amakawa who is protected by a spirit — specifically, a buxom, sword-wielding cat girl spirit named Himari. Yūto is descended from a family that has subjugated demons since time immemorial. The charm (omamori) that once protected him is now impotent, but fortunately, at that same moment, Himari appears before him as his new guardian.
Matra launched the manga in Monthly Dragon Age in 2006, and the story inspired a television anime series in 2010. Yen Press publishes the manga in North America, and Crunchyroll streamed the television anime as it aired in Japan.
