posted on by Rae First
Square Enix released its financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year (April 1-June 30) on Tuesday. The report cited that even though the company's consolidated ordinary income was up 1.49 billion yen (US$15.3 million), the company faced significant losses.
The company's browser games, such as Sengoku IXA and Kaku San Sei Million Arthur have added some profit along with DragonQuest X Online. The company's arcade systems as well as manga publishing also helped increase sales.
However, the company released an additional statement citing that due to recent changes in the gaming industry and consumer demand, the company's 1.6 billion yen (US$16.5 million) write downs have caused the company significant losses.
