Netflix Streams Both Digimon Adventure Seasons in Japanese

The online movie rental and streaming company Netflix has added both the subtitled Japanese and English-dubbed versions of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 to its instant streaming catalog. The release marks the first time the Japanese version of first series has been made legally available in the United States.

Funimation and Crunchyroll both previously streamed subtitled versions of Digimon Adventure 02 and the third series, Digimon Tamers, but the episodes have since been removed. Likewise, Amazon's Instant Video previously offered subtitled Digimon Adventure 02 for purchase, but the episodes have also been removed.

New Video Group has released the first three series on DVD with dubbed audio only. The fourth season, Digimon Frontier, will also ship in a dub-only DVD set on September 10.

Twentieth Century Fox and Buena Vista Home Entertainment both previously released part of the first two series on dub-only VHS and DVD.
