posted on by Sarah Nelkin
NHK's Anime World website announced on Wednesday that a second series of Oshiri Kajiri Mushi (Bottom Biting Bug), the anime inspired by the hit children's song of the same name, will premiere on the NHK-BS Premium channel on September 30 at 6:25 p.m.
The website describes the theme of the second season as “empathy for others.” The gag comedy will continue to focus on Oshiri Kajiri Mushi XVIII, a 10-year-old insect who goes Biting School to inherit his family's Biting Shop business. In the new anime, he will attend a town idol audition, a town trash-cleaning event, an autumn festival, and more.
Masayuki Kojima will return to direct the anime alongside new director Kaori at the studio Kinema Citrus. Pierre Sugiura is in charge of the scripts. Original character designer Uruma Delvi will once again be designing the characters for the anime. Crunchyroll streamed the first series into several countries as it aired in Japan.
