posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The August issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine announced on Friday that Trigger's Little Witch Academia original anime is inspiring a short manga. The manga will run in the next issue on August 19. The manga will be drawn by Terio Teri whose previous works include Hlocclinie in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace in 2010-2011 and adult manga published by Core Magazine.
Trigger produced Little Witch Academia under the Anime Mirai program. The anime's story follows Akko Kagari (Megumi Han) who begins magic school at the Little Witch Academia. While studying there, she hopes of becoming just like her idol, a magician named Shiny Chariot.
The new localization and game company acttil announced it will offer the Blu-ray Disc of the magical fantasy anime in North America this summer.
A second episode, tentatively titled Little Witch Academia 2, met its US$150,000 pledge goal on Kickstarter for extending the 20-minute episode and to a 35-minute of run time. The campaign added a stretch goal for US$500,000 to include an audio commentary track and a "making-of" documentary to the standard Blu-ray Disc release. As of this writing, the campaign has raised US$422,378.
