Toshiue no Hito College Romance Manga Gets Live-Action Drama
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
A live-action adaptation of the college romance manga Toshiue no Hito by Ryuta Amazume (Nana to Kaoru, Nidaime wa Cosplayer) has been green-lit. The project ship on six 60-minute DVDs starting this fall and running through this winter, but the episodes will first play in movie theaters.
The manga revolves around Tsutomu — a college student worried that he is impotent — and his relationship with Ageha, a diminutive, beautiful woman five years older than him. Shinpei Takagi (Café Kichijouji de, Mei-chan no Shitsuji, live-action Ouran High School Host Club) will play Tsutomu, while actress and model Shiho (Kamen Rider Fourze) will play Ageha.
Other cast members includes Yurie Midori as Midori Asai, Miki Takahashi as Ayaka Kitagawa, Mikuru Uchino as Megumi Morino, Hiroko Sato as Miki Sagawa, Eita Okuno as Kei Fukamizawa, and Tateto Serizawa as Shinji Hayashi. Ataru Ueda, Daigo Udagawa, and Norihisa Yoshimura are directing the episodes, and Kōko Kawai is one of the writers.
Amazawa serialized the manga in Hakusensha's Young Animal Arashi magazine from 2001 to 2006. Hakusensha published the sixth and final collected volume in Japan in 2007, and the manga also inspired a drama CD that same year.
