posted on by Egan Loo
The Obihiro Tourism and Convention Bureau posted a casting call for extras on a film project on Wednesday. According to the casting call, the film is shooting this summer in the Tokachi area of Hokkaido in and around Obihiro City. The film will be a "portrait of teens set in an agricultural high school." Keisuke Yoshida (Cafe Isobe, Triangle) is directing the film with the production companies TBS and Wilco (All About Lily Chou-Chou) and the distributor TOHO.
The casting call is looking for people to play students at the main character's high school, teachers, parents, school festival visitors, horse race track visitors, and other roles. The deadline for applying is July 21, and the filming for the extras will run from August to September.
The Silver Spoon television anime premiered in Japan this month, and the bureau is hosting a banner for the anime. The anime used Hokkaido Obihiro Agricultural High School (pictured right) as the model for the fictional Hokkaido agricultural high school first seen in Hiromu Arakawa's original manga.
