Miku English Is Hatsune Miku's 1st Windows/Mac Release
posted on by Egan Loo
Kanae Muraki, Director of Global Development for Crypton Future Media, confirmed at Anime Expo on Sunday that her company's Hatsune Miku English singing voice synthesizer package will be the first Hatsune Miku release to run on both Windows and Mac. There will not be two versions, but one package that will run on both platforms.
While the price point has not been announced, Muraki said that it would be similar in price range to Kaito V3 (another Crypton voice package) and less than US$200. Crypton is collaborating with Big Fish Audio to simultaneously release Hatsune Miku English in a retail package and as a download in the United States. The Big Fish Audio representatives narrowed the previously revealed Summer release window to "end of Summer."
The complete package will include the new English vocal database itself from original Miku voice Saki Fujita, the vocal editor Piapro Studio, a set of over 200 PreSonus sound files for instruments, and the Studio One music software.
Muraki played the song "Coming Together" by Sapporo-based artist bsc a.k.a. kuni to give people a sample of Miku English. She also noted Crypton's collaboration with Animate USA for selling goods and with WeLoveFine for apparel. (WeLoveFine will run a Miku design contest.)
Update: A Japanese Hatsune Miku package for Mac has yet to be announced, but Muraki said to watch for further developments.
