Sentai Filmworks Adds Fantasista Doll Anime

North American licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced at Anime Expo on Saturday that it has licensed the television anime series Fantasista Doll. The 12-episode series is slated for home video release in 2014.
Hisashi Saito is directing the anime at the studio Hoods Entertainment from Gorō Taniguchi's original concept. Hiromi Kato is adapting Anmi's original character designs for the anime and is also serving as chief animation director, and Yasuharu Takanashi is providing the music.
In this science-fiction story, Uzume Uno (played by Ayaka Ōhashi) is an ordinary second-year middle school student who comes into possession of five "dolls" who fight and power up with special cards. The cast for the dollls include Minami Tsuda as Sasara, Sora Tokui as Katia, Chinatsu Akasaki as Shimeji, Akiko Hasegawa as Akari, and Sayaka Ōhara as Madeleine. The main cast is also performing the opening and ending theme songs.
The series will premiere in Japan on Saturday. Crunchyroll will stream the series in several regions as it airs.
