My Little Monster Spinoff Manga to Launch in August
posted on by Egan Loo
The August issue of Kodansha's Dessert magazine announced on Monday that Robico will launch a Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (My Little Monster) spinoff manga series in the October issue on August 24. Robico just ended the main manga on Monday. The 12th and final compiled book volume will ship on August 12 with an original anime DVD.
The story began with Shizuku Mizutani, a girl who has absolutely no interests except for school and her plans for the future. A boy named Haru Yoshida would be seated next to her in class, but he has been constantly absent since the first day of school. By chance, she is sent to deliver class printouts to him, and that leads Yoshida to believe they are friends.
The main manga debuted in Dessert in 2008, and inspired a television anime series that ran last year. Crunchyroll streamed the show under the title My Little Monster.
Ai Okaue started her new series Bambi to Doll in Dessert on Monday, and the current issue includes Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun character cards. The next issue will have a Chibi Dessert booklet and one-shot manga by Haruka Fukushima, Uri Kanda, and Shiroro Satsuki on July 24.
