Paper: Live-Action Lupin III Casts Shun Oguri, Arashi's Sakurai, Satoshi Tsumabuki

The Tokyo Sports newspaper reported again on Friday and Saturday that a live-action film based on Monkey Punch's Lupin III manga and anime will have Shun Oguri (Captain Harlock, Detective Conan, Hana Yori Dango, Space Brothers) in the title thief role. The newspaper added that Arashi band member Shō Sakurai (Yatterman, Honey and Clover) will play the sharpshooter Daisuke Jigen, while Satoshi Tsumabuki (Dororo, Dragon Head, Ikebukuro West Gate Park) will play the swordsman Goemon Ishikawa.
NTV, the television broadcaster of the Lupin III anime, has not officially announced a live-action Lupin III film.
According to Tokyo Sports, the film (tentatively titled Lupin Sansei ~Meitantei vs. Lupin~ or Lupin III: Famous Detective vs. Lupin) will begin shooting in early autumn for release next March. However, the newspaper added the project is still casting the main female role of Fujiko. Among the possible candidates that the newspaper listed are Mirei Kiritani, Masami Nagasawa, Anne Watanabe, Airi Taira, Kyōko Fukada, Asami Mizukawa, Tsubasa Honda, Kiko Mizuhara, and Kou Shibasaki.
