Nelvana Funds 2 Western-Exclusive Beyblade Sequel Series
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Canadian entertainment company Nelvana announced in a press release on Wednesday that it is funding two new Beyblade sequel series with production company d-rights, inc. The two series will premiere after Beyblade: Shogun Steel (Metal Fight Beyblade Zero-G) anime launches in North America and Europe this fall.
The tentatively-titled BeyRaiderz Shogun will premiere in Spring 2014 and run for 13 half-hour episodes. The series will be followed by the tentatively-titled BeyWarriors Cyborg in Fall 2014 that will feature 26 episodes and two hour-long specials.
Additionally, Hasbro will introduce a new toy line for the Beyblade: Shogun Steel series.
These are not the first Western exclusive series in the Beyblade franchise. The BeyWheelz spin-off series was created for Western markets and in December Nelvana confirmed the series would get a 13-episode second season.
Beyblade: Shogun Steel will air in Canada on YTV, in the United States on Cartoon Network, in the United Kingdom and Germany on Nickelodeon, and in France on Gulli.
