L.A. Go Nagai Tribute Features 5 of His Paintings
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Gō Nagai tribute "Devils & Robots" in Los Angeles will feature five original paintings by Nagai himself. The paintings were contributed by a local fan of Nagai's work. The exhibition features art by over 60 artists inspired by Gō Nagai's work, including Junko Mizuno and Sho Murase.
Nagai is the creator behind many popular manga and anime franchises including Cutey Honey, Devilman and Mazinger Z, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. Other more recent manga under Nagai's name include the Dororo to Enma-kun (Dororo and Enma-kun) crossover manga series in Nihonbungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku and the Cutey Honey vs Devilman Lady manga, which will premiere in the 38th volume of Akita Shoten's Champion RED Ichigo magazine on Wednesday.
The exhibition is being held at the art gallery Q Pop on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
