Capcom VP: Digital Ace Attorney 5 Release Will Not Hurt Sales
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Capcom U.S.A. Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson stated in the CAPCOM forums on Monday that his company's decision to release Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies (Gyakuten Saiban 5) as a digital-only title will not hurt its sales.
I think you're selling yourself and the AA [Ace Attorney] community short. I also think you underestimate our relationship with NOA [Nintendo of America] and what I hope will be our ability to keep it surfaced for more than just a few weeks. NOA has been extremely supportive of MH3 Ultimate [Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate]. I see no reason why they wouldn't be equally supportive of AA:DD.
According to Svensson, lack of retail support in the past led to the decision.
The game will ship on July 25 in Japan with a limited-edition version that includes a Phoenix Wright figure. It will then arrive in the West this fall.
