Right Stuf Inc.'s Nozomi Entertainment Division posted a video comparison on Tuesday for its remastered version of Osamu Tezuka's Princess Knight anime, and also announced that its release of the two DVD sets of the series has been delayed due to the restoration efforts. The first DVD set, which was previously planned for June 4, will now ship on August 20, and the second DVD set, which was planned for August 6, will now ship on October 22.
The company also cited the "acquisition of additional source materials" as a cause for delay. The video restoration will use multiple sources.
Nozomi initially that the DVD releases will use the edited and cut broadcast version, as this version was all that was available. Because of this, Princess Knight is planned as a dub-only release, since the Japanese audio cannot be synced with the edited video.
