Gundam Designer Okawara's Exhibit Draws 50,000

The "Kunio Ōkawara Exhibition: Legend of Mechanical Design" featuring more than 400 individual art pieces and other materials by mechanical designer Kunio Ōkawara (Mobile Suit Gundam, Kagaku Ninja-Tai Gatchaman, Armored Trooper Votoms) has drawn more than 50,000 visitors since the exhibition opened at the at the Hyōgo Prefectural Museum of Art in Kobe on March 23. The museum commemorated the 50,000th visitor, a three-member family, with a plastic model set on May 2.

One of the pieces featured at the exhibit is a four-meter life-size Scopedog figure from Armored Trooper Votoms (pictured at right).

The exhibit is open until May 19.
