Patlabor's Masami Yuuki Launches New Manga

Mobile Police Patlabor manga creator Masami Yuuki launched a new manga series in the June issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine on Saturday. The series, Disu x Komi, is Yuuki's first entirely new series in 10 years. His previous works were related to his pre-existing franchises, such as Birdy the Mighty.
Disu x Komi is a comedy that follows an aspiring manga artist and her older brother. The story begins when the sister's work wins the Rook of the Year award. Even though she should be happy, for some reason her face is sullen. The first chapter reveals the secret behind the sister's winning work.
Yuuki's last series Tetsuwan Birdy Evolution (Birdy the Mighty Evolution) ended last year. Yuuki launched the manga in 2008 as a sequel to his Tetsuwan Birdy (Birdy the Mighty) manga remake in Shogakukan's Weekly Young Sunday and Big Comic Spirits magazines.
