posted on by Egan Loo
Bamboo Blade C, Masahiro Totsuka's third manga series about high school girls who practice kendō (Japanese sword fencing), will debut in the June issue of Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine on May 25. The announcement was made in the current issue, which went on sale on Thursday. Totsuka is once again credited for the story, while Jingu Takao (Syllabus of Oshie) is drawing the manga this time.
Totsuka and artist Aguri Igarashi (Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A) already ended the first Bamboo Blade manga series in 2010, and Yen Press published it in North America. AIC A.S.T.A. adapted the manga into a television anime series in 2007-2008, and Funimation released the anime in North America.
Studio Neko is still drawing the second manga series, Bamboo Blade B, in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine.
