Video game news website Siliconera confirmed with Japanese video game company Agatsuma Entertainment (Code of Princess) that the company is planning an overseas release of the 3DS platform game Farewell, Umihara Kawase (Sayonara Umihara Kawase), but that nothing has been fixed yet.
The company's general manager Rica Kuno Matsumura replied to Siliconera in an e-mail saying, "Yes, we are planning to release [Farewell, Umihara Kawase] in future, but not fixed anything yet. Maybe we will discuss during E3 with other new titles?"
Farewell, Umihara Kawase is slated for release on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan this summer. The franchise follows a school girl in a world of strange fish where players use a grappling hook to solve puzzles and avoid enemies. Originally released for the Super Famicom, the franchise has had sequels and ports for the PlayStation, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. Game company Natsume (Harvest Moon) planned to release the PSP game stateside under the name Yumi's Odd Odyssey, but the game was never released.
A debut trailer for Farewell, Umihara Kawase is streaming on the game's official website:
