Sally Hawkins Joins Godzilla Remake's Cast

The Deadline website reported that actress Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) claimed the final lead role in Gareth Edward's Godzilla film. Hawkins will play a scientist in the film alongside cast members Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, Richard T. Jones, and Juliette Binoche.
Principal photography began in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
The film will open on May 16, 2014.
