Former Sony Corporation president Ryoji Chubachi will resign from his position as vice-chairman on Sunday. Chubachi will also step down from the board at a general shareholders' meeting in June. He is slated to start a new position as president of Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology on Monday. He served as president of Sony from 2005 until 2009 when he took the position of vice-chairman.
Another former Sony president and current board chairman Howard Stringer will retire in June. Kazuo "Kaz" Hirai was promoted to president last year after Stringer stepped down from the position.
