Variety: Actor David Strathairn in Godzilla Remake Talks

The entertainment news source Variety reports that actor David Strathairn (Lincoln, The Bourne Ultimatum, Good Night, and Good Luck.) is in talks with Legendary Pictures for a role in the upcoming Godzilla film remake. The exact role has not been revealed, other than the character is in the military.
If signed, Strathairn would join French actress Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Chocolat, Cosmopolis) and confirmed actress Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene, Oldboy). Other stars in reported talks include Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo).
Legendary Pictures is currently involved in an ongoing lawsuit with the film's former producers Dan Lin, Roy Lee, and Doug Davison. The film is still scheduled to open on May 16, 2014.
