Shenmue Creator Considering Crowdfunding for Game Sequel
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
French TV journalist Sebastien-Abdelhamid interviewed Shenmue game creator Yū Suzuki at the Monaco Anime/Game Show on Sunday. In the interview, Suzuki said he is considering a crowdfunding source similar to Kickstarter to create Shenmue III. Suzuki also stated he would like to see the story continue through anime or manga.
The first two Shenmue titles were released for the Sega Dreamcast console in Japan in 1999 and 2001. The social computer game Shenmue Gai spin-off was released in December 2010 but Ys Net closed the game a year later.
