GEN Manga Launches Kickstarter, Manhwa Magazine
posted on by Joanne Mertz
GEN Manga launched a kickstarter.com campaign to fund the publication of more of the slice-of-life manga Sorako by Takayuki Fujimura, as well as underground and indie manga from lesser known circles in Tokyo. Fujimura explains Sorako as an "ordinary story about a girl who lives an ordinary life. She has friends and family, loves her dog, thinks about life, and occasionally looks for work (kinda). These are the adventures into a typical girl's life." Based on the amount pledged, those who contribute to the funding will receive a number of Soroko goodies, such as a PDF edition of the novel, their name on an acknowledgement page, and digital access to the first 16 issues of GEN Manga.
GEN Manga announced it will also release release Korean manhwa while the editors take a break from their manga magazine. The manhwa publications will start with the title Stone Collector by Kevin Han and Zom-J.
