Naoki Yoshida, director and producer of the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn video game, announced on Friday that the first phase of the game's beta test will open on February 25. Yoshida said the development team had planned to open the beta test a week earlier to follow the roadmap, but the release was delayed due to various factors such as system and character tests.
This beta test will only include the Gridania area, which begins in level 15 of the main quest. The test will also include the "Guild Order" feature that is similar to "Behest" from the Final Fantasy XIV game.
Yoshida posted several screenshots from the beta, including images of Full Active Time Event (F.A.T.E.), sudden in-game events that will be open to all players.
Square Enix began streaming a prologue video for the game in January.
