Jewelpet Magical Girl Anime Gets 5th TV Show in April

The March issue of Shogakukan's Pucchigumi magazine is revealing on Friday that Jewelpet Happiness, the fifth Jewelpet magical girl television anime, will premiere on April 6. The new story will center around Chiari, a third-year middle school girl who lives in a world where the magical Jewelpets creatures and humans live side-by-side. Chiari attends Jewel Academy.
Sanrio and Sega Toys launched their Jewelpet character and toy line in 2008, and the first Jewelpet anime followed a year later. Each Jewelpet toy is a stuffed animal; in the storyline, these pets belonged to magicians in "Jewelland" and can use magic themselves, thanks to their round jewel eyes. They study every day to learn how to use magic.
The first Jewelpet anime was followed by Jewelpet Twinkle, Jewelpet Sunshine, and most recently, last year's Jewelpet Kira☆Deco—!
