Cyclops Shōjo Saipū Comedy Manga Gets Web Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
A anime adaptation of Yasu Tora's four-panel comedy manga Cyclops Shōjo Saipū will stream on the website of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine on March 12.
The gag comedy centers around a middle school girl nicknamed "Saipū" (short for Cyclops) because of her ungainly height and hairstyle that reveals only one eye. Mai Nakahara will play the title character who adores her big brother.
Tora launched the manga series in 2011 (after a string of earlier one-shot chapters), and Shueisha will publish the second book volume next month.
The magazine editors are recruiting readers to voice the crowds in the anime. The recording session will be held at a Tokyo studio on March 3, and the deadline for applying is February 12.
