Crunchyroll to Stream 'Straight Title Robot Anime' Series

The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream Straight Title Robot Anime (Chokkyū Hyōdai Robot Anime), a television anime produced in the free CG software MikuMikuDance. Crunchyroll will stream the series on Wednesdays starting on February 6 at 11:45 p.m. EST. The title will be available worldwide outside of Japan.
MikuMikuDance is Yū Higuchi's program that enables users to create dancing videos of Crypton Future Media's Vocaloid virtual idol character Hatsune Miku, as well as other characters.
The story of the anime is set in the year Mobile Century 8013. It has been over seven millennia since humanity was wiped out on Earth, but the surviving military robots continue to wage war with no end in sight. The war has embroiled the Rebellion Federation that controls Europe and the Principality of Shin centered in Asia. Three young robots stand up to put an end to this futile war.
Kōtarō Ishidate (gdgd Fairies) is directing and overseeing the series scripts, while cort is the animation director. Kei, the illustrator best known for designing Hatsune Miku, is designing the characters. Tōru Nakano is producing the sound.
The cast includes:

- Miho Arakawa as Katō
- Rumi Ookubo as Mori
- Hiroaki Hirata as Narrator
The series will premiere in Japan on February 6 and will run for one quarter of a year.
