Pokémon Black/White 2 Sells 7.63 Million Copies Worldwide

Nintendo revealed in its third quarter sales report on Wednesday that as of December 31 the Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 games for the Nintendo DS have sold 7.63 million copies worldwide. The company additionally revealed that New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS has sold 5.96 million copies worldwide, New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U has sold 2.01 million copies, and Nintendo Land for the Wii U has sold 2.33 million copies. (Note: Nintendo Land was included with the Wii U console.) Animal Crossing: New Leaf has sold 2.73 million copies, although that number only reflects sales in Japan.
Nintendo also revised its sales forecast figures for the Wii U and 3DS systems in its report. Nintendo had forecast in its last quarterly report that it would sell 5.5 million Wii U units between its launch and March 31. The company had also forecast it would sell 17.5 million 3DS units between April 1, 2012 and March 31. The revised forecast is for 4 million Wii U units and 15 million 3DS units.
Nintendo revealed that it has sold 12.71 million 3DS units worldwide since April 1, 2012, and the Wii U has sold 3.06 million units worldwide since its launch in November.
