Petit Eva's Ryusuke Hamamoto Launches Oni Work Manga
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The March issue of Takeshobo's Manga Club Original magazine began serialization on Ryusuke Hamamoto's Oni Work four-panel manga on Tuesday. Takeshobo describes the series as centering around a "part-time demon girl." The manga is being printed on the magazine's table of contents page. Hamamoto added on his Twitter account on Tuesday that the series will not be getting a compiled volume release.
Hamamoto, who also goes by the name "Ryu Moto," designed the characters in the computer-animated Petit Eva - Evangelion@School project (pictured at right) and other spinoffs based on Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime series. He also drew Image Comics' Compass comic series and the LR Shōjo Tantei Dan manga. Along with other artists, he contributed to the Comic Artists - Asia and Hon anthologies.
JManga lists the first two volumes of the Petit Eva First manga on its website, but the company has yet to publish the manga online.
Hatamoto launched both the Hiyokobocchi manga in Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu and the Sayu x Lily in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazines in 2011.
