posted on by Egan Loo
The sixth issue of the Monthly Romeo Tanaka handout revealed on Saturday that the Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai anime film will open on April 13, 2013. The film's official website also announced this date. The handout is being distributed at Tokyo's Comic Market 83 event this weekend.
The film is based on the 2008 light novel of the same name by Romeo Tanaka (Humanity is Declining). The school romantic comedy revolves around Ichirō "Menzu" Satō, a high school freshman who forgets his textbook at school one day. Ichirō encounters a beautiful girl while sneaking back into his school in the dead of night. The girl calls herself a witch from a parallel world. Ichirō used to suffer delusions of grandeur like this, but vowed to stop so that he can successfully re-invent himself as a freshman in high school.
Seiji Kishi (Persona 4, Angel Beats!, My Bride is a Mermaid/Seto no Hanayome) is directing the anime at AIC ASTA. Makoto Uezu (School Days, Is This a Zombie?, My Bride is a Mermaid) is collaborating on the story composition with scriptwriter Jun Kumagai (Persona 4 The Animation episodes). Kazuaki Morita (Carnival Phantasm, Kamisama Dolls, My Bride is a Mermaid) is adapting the original novel illustrations by mebae (C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility).
