Love Live! TV Anime's Web Ad Streamed Before Airing
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Lantis began streaming the web ad video for the Love Live! television anime on Thursday.
The "school idol project" is set at a school between Tokyo's Akihabara, Kanda, and Jinbochō neighborhoods. The school faces the danger of being "streamlined" out of existence, so nine of its female students decide to become idols to protect their school and boost attendance.
In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G Magazine launched Love Live! as a self-described "ultimate user-participation project" which lets its fans vote on the future of the fictional idols. A series of music CDs and animated music videos then followed. The members of the project announced this past February that an full anime series has been green-lit for next year.
The series will premiere on January 6.
