posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The official website for Kabushiki Kaisha MMDGP announced that a second season of the adaptation of Lily Franky's famous Odenkun picture book has been green-lit. Ganbare! Odenkun will begin airing on Japanese television on Saturday, January 12. And official website for the anime has been opened.
The first season of the Odenkun anime aired in Japan in 2005 with Manami Honjō (Mai Mai Miracle's Nagako) as Oden-kun, Chiemi Chiba (Ojamajo Doremi's Doremi) as Tamago-chan and Jouji Yanami (Yatterman's Yakkii) as Daikon-sensei.
Oden is a popular Japanese hotpot dish that includes radishes, eggs and other foods boiled in a kelp-base broth. Characters in the book include titular character Oden-kun, Tamago-chan (egg girl), Daikon-sensei (radish sensei) and other characters of "good taste."
