posted on by Egan Loo
Kyoto Animation aired and streamed the third television commercial for Tamako Market, the upcoming television anime from the main staff of K-ON!, on Thursday. The tagline for the anime's new ad and the updated website reads, "Rice cake (mochi), eaten too much." Takumi Yamazaki narrates the ad as the anime's bird.
The ad and site reveal the latest piece of key visual art and more of the cast:
Keiji Fujiwara as Mamedai Kitashirakawa, Tamako's father who runs the Tamaya shop.
Tomomichi Nishimura as Fuku Kitashirakawa, Tamako's grandfather
Fumihiko Tachiki as Gohei Ōji, Mochizō's father who runs the Ōjiya shop
Satsuki Yukino as Michiko Ōji, Mochizō's mother
The website also posted a character relationship chart and handwritten comments from the staff and cast.
The staff already revealed that Aya Suzaki (Bakuman., Manyū Hiken-chō, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness) will play the title heroine Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high-school freshman who is cheerful, spirited, and kind to others. She is the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi shopkeeper in the shopping district and a baton club member.
Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) is in charge of the series scripts. Another K-ON! veteran, Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star), is designing the characters.
The anime will premiere on January 9 on the Tokyo MX TV station. It will also run on the Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, BS11 Digital, and BS Animax channels.
