AnoHana Film's Latest Preview Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day anime franchise began streaming the latest preview video for the upcoming film on Friday. The video also aired during Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block late Thursday evening (effectively, early Friday morning.) The film will open next summer in Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 and other theaters.
The website also posted a new logo and a piece of key visual art for the film. It announced that the first batch of advance tickets will go on sale at the Chichibu Yo Matsuri festival in Chichibu City from December 1 to December 3. (The anime's setting was modeled after Chichibu, and scriptwriter Mari Okada was born in Chichibu.) These tickets each include a bonus bromide card, and both the tickets and the cards feature an illustration by character designer Masayoshi Tanaka.
The original Spring 2011 television anime followed several childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school after drifting apart due to tragedy. The film will retell the anohana story from the character Menma's point of view. Tatsuyuki Nagai is returning to direct the film at A-1 Pictures.
Update: More information added.
