Man Arrested For Selling Unauthorized AKB48, Gundam Clocks

Police from Sapporo arrested a 42-year-old Kyoto male office worker named Takeshi Noda on Thursday on suspicion of selling clocks with photographs of AKB48 idol group members and other designs without permission online.
He allegedly sold clocks with photographs of AKB48 members, Mobile Suit Gundam, and other subjects on their face to five men and women in Chiba, Kanagawa and other prefectures between June 2011 and September 2012. The clocks reportedly went for 3,000 to 4,500 yen (about US$40-55) each via online auctions. He allgedly sold about 900 items online until September, earning about 2,680,000 yen (about US$33,250) in a single year. The police are still investigating further offenses.
