Digital manga anthology currently runs 2 weeks behind Japanese releases
Viz Media's Executive Vice President of Publishing Alvin Lu said at the ICv2 Conference at New York Comic Con on Wednesday that Viz Media's Shonen Jump Alpha digital anthology will be moving to a simultaneous model with Japan "very soon." Lu had revealed the digital manga anthology at New York Comic Con last year.
Shonen Jump Alpha launched on January 30, and originally included installments of Bakuman., Bleach, Naruto, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, One Piece, and Toriko two weeks after their print debut in Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
The magazine has since added multiple other series such as Blue Exorcist, Takama-ga-hara, Barrage, Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration, Rurouni Kenshin Act Zero, and Cross Manage.
