North American market research company NPD Group confirmed on Friday that U.S. sales of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance accounted for over 200,000 unit sales last month. Nintendo of America released U.S. sales figures that stated 180,000 units were sold, but the number did not account for the “Mark of Mastery” collector's edition of the game.
NPD's top-10 chart for the month ranked Dream Drop Distance at #3, behind New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Darksiders 2.
Square Enix released the role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS system in North America on July 31, after the European release on July 20. The game shipped in Japan on March 29.
