Blood Lad Anime Slated for 2013 by Brains Base

The wraparound jacket band for volume seven of Yūki Kodama's Blood Lad manga revealed that the series is slated for 2013. The adaptation will be animated by Brains Base (Durarara!!, Mawaru Penguindrum, Baccano!, Natsume's Book of Friends).
The black comedy follows a vampire named Staz who has his figurative heart stolen by Fuyumi, a human high school girl who suddenly appears in his world. Unfortunately, she is just as suddenly killed, and thus she becomes a ghost. Staz tries to bring Fuyumi back to life.
In May of 2011, Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine revealed that the anime was in the works. There are 800,000 copies of the manga in circulation.
