Viz Media to Release Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire Film in October
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The North American anime distributor Viz Media confirmed with ANN on Monday that it will release the Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire film on October 23 on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The Blu-ray Disc will retail for US$24.98, and the DVD version will retail for US$19.98.
In the film, four ninjas with bloodline limits from the hidden villages of Cloud, Stone, Mist, and Sand disappear. The Land of Fire is under suspicion as it is the only country to not have one of its ninja disappear. The suspicion between countries almost brings about a 4th Great Ninja War, and Tsunade orders the ninja from the Hidden Village of Leaf to find out the truth behind the disappearances to prevent the war.
The film originally opened in Japan in August 2009. Naruto Shippūden: The Will of Fire is the third Naruto Shippūden film and the sixth Naruto film the overall. Masahiko Murata, who also directed Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison and Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower, directed the film, and Naruto Shippūden screenwriter Junki Takegami handled the screenplay.
Viz Media previously released the second Naruto Shippūden film, Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds, in American theaters and on DVD and Blu-ray Disc last October.
