Ponyo to Air on NTV's Kinyō Road Show Slot

Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Ponyo film will air on Japan's Nippon Television (NTV) station during its Kinyō Road Show (Friday Road Show) slot on August 24 beginning at 9 PM.
While NTV is a sponsor of the film and frequently shows Studio Ghibli movies during the slot, it was reported by the Tokyo Sports newspaper in July 2011 that the station would hold off on broadcasting the film indefinitely, citing the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster of March 11 and the film's tsunami-related imagery. The newspaper also indicated that Miyazaki's widening anti-nuclear power activities were a possible factor as to why the reported ban had continued.
