Samurai 7 Anime Debuts on Toonami on August 19

2004 series based on Akira Kurosawa's film to take Deadman Wonderland's time slot
Adult Swim, the cable and satellite network that is paired with Cartoon Network, is listing on its schedule that it will air the Samurai 7 television anime series on Sunday, August 19 at 12:30 a.m. The first episode will then air again at 3:30 a.m. The show will air during the revived Toonami block, and will replace Deadman Wonderland, which is ending its 12-episode run on August 12.
The series previously aired on the IFC premium cable channel in 2006. The show has also aired on the FUNimation Channel.
Samurai 7 is a futuristic remake of Akira Kurosawa's world renowned 1954 film Seven Samurai. The show originally aired in Japan in 2004.
